RSRG Architects designed and completed the renovation of a 1,173-square-foot residence located in the Pinheiros area of São Paulo, Brazil; it is entitled João Apartment and it conjures a space filled with color through furniture along numerous plants and original artifacts gathered from all around the world.

The renovation removed certain walls to emphasize the feeling of space, creating a bright, open social space, the interior design also received new- vintage doors salvaged from São Paulo’s antiques district. Exposed concrete pillars and exposed bricks bring in extraordinary texture that speak of authenticity with an industrial touch.

The inner core of this home is defined by the kitchen that neighbors the living room; the bedroom, bathroom and laundry area can be found in an area that serves the inhabitant with a little more privacy.

“Life revolves around an open space with a kitchen and an adjoining living room, while the bedroom, bathroom and laundry are in a more private area. The decor is a great mix: a beloved piano, classic pieces like the iconic Paulistano chairs, one-of-a kind items like the bed discovered at a flea market. Little owls, Brazilian indian artifacts, and Bolivian and African sculptures give away the fact that this is an avid craft collector’s house.”

Green-ivy, fiddle-leaf fig and numerous other plants create an extraordinary graphic balance in an eclectic design scheme .

Coziness and warmth brought forward by exposed brick and wooden flooring.

The extraordinary pattern in the bathroom brings color, contrast and dynamicity in perfect balance. The concrete texture on counter creates depth in an extraordinary airy setting flooded by light.
