House Åkerudden envisioned by MNy Arkitekter in a privileged location, neighboring a lake in the rural community of Tenala, quietly nestled in the surrounding fields surprises through simplicity and sheer beauty.
The design solution can be described with four words: “authenticity, simplicity, locality and sustainability” ; words that according to the architects are the firm`s goals for their entire practice. The establishment uses a simply layout to contain cooking, eating and relaxing in single opening that has in its center the dinning table; this particular position breaking the space into four pieces. A fireplace sculpts a cozy ambiance in the middle with warmth and style in the front of the sofa.
Locally sourced spruced has been the main construction element in this Finnish LakeHouse yet oak, aspen, black alder, Oregon pines and other timbers have also been used to create depth and contrast with natural materials to enrich and en-root the design into its surroundings, in its context.
