Located in Melbourne, Australia, Hawthorn Neighborhood to be more exact, Higham Road Residence is a sublime modern mansion designed by Steve Domoney, head of Domoney Architecture.
The dream home is rather compact, very well carefully put together, not leaving anything behind despite its small size. The aesthetic values are gained by the use of dark tones and natural materials, textures becoming an important accent in the composition. We like that the privacy line is not delimited by the small fence, the home invites the pedestrian, the viewer to enter whilst making sure that he knows that there is a private property, it makes a statement without being offensive or aggressive, moreover the plants and extraordinary backyard landscaping are showing great respect to both the pedestrian that get`s to enjoy such beauty as well to the inhabitant which offers him such opportunity with the low wall and attention to details.
While the home opens up with the lawn, the glass walls are limited on the street facade as you would expect, for privacy, in the backyard though the home opens up to a smaller courtyard that offers a tiny patio/terrace to enjoy fresh air and a simple swimming pool that would do the trick just fine.
I tend to like this project because in its simple shape that accommodates a high end lifestyle the mansion tends to be modest, to be functional beautiful and calm and to breath a superior air without a pedestal. That`s just an opinion, what do you think about this modern mansion?
