Designed by the architect Vitaly Pavlenko, this contemporary minimalist apartment was created for a young couple living in the capital of Belarus, Minsk, and measures 130 square meter. Even though it was designed for a couple, the apartment has an extra kid’s room. The spaces are placed in a line aside of a hallway. The architect used different lines to shape the corridor, and their smoothness creates the illusion of a larger living space.
In order to emphasize the volumes and their shadows the designer used only grey shades. Every room has only one hue of coloured grey on the most important piece of furniture: in the bedroom, the bed is the only coloured grey component; in the living room, the hearth – fireplace – has red grey accents.
Homesthetics conclusion:
As we’ve pointed out in the last post’s Homesthetics conclusion, the colour is important, but its absence may emphasize the other elements. The only shade that is neutral psychologically speaking is the pure grey, so we can say that the palete gives an angelic impression.
