In our previous posts related to sustainable architecture art and design we`ve tried to get your interest up about a healthy attitude for environment, and here we refer just to Army of the Melting Man by Nele Azvedo and the Side Table designed by Alexandre Moronnoz .We`ve always advised you to read, acknowledge and react to the sustainable cause, because every change starts from small things, starts from yourself and we try to promote that attitude.
So now we will try to pass the giving advices border and point into a direction which we already follow and we`re proud to say it`s amazing. We will try to show some methods of recycling plastic bottles. Plastic Bottles which we meet on the daily basis, use and throw away, without even imagining what we can do with them, besides of proper recycling on specialized recycle unit.
For example, maybe the most beautiful and creative design here is the aesthetic curtain designed by Michelle Brand which most people would perceive as waste or rubbish. We invite you to offer your opinion after you`ll see it in the pictures bellow. The fabric is composed of plastic drink bottle basis which have been cut, sanded and then tagged together. Michelle stated : “I use plastic drinks bottles in my designs. It is so much more challenging to use an existing shape and material. My inspiration came from my method of inquiry about plastic as a material. I de constructed the material, rather than asked, “what can I make from plastic bottles?”. I applied my creative design, maker, and artistic skills to transform the overlooked into the beautiful. I would like to think that my designs are the Sex in the City of the reuse world!”
