In most scenarios, the most important attribute of a person, item or even art is originality and simplicity, something clear enough to be almost obvious as a choice, a choice at which you will never think though.
In the furniture field, it`s very hard for someone to reinvent a chair, shelf or even desk which can be more diverse depending on your needs. Therefore, the original outcome of the so called “original furniture” has to do with the contrast, structure, maybe even equilibrium, this case being applied here.

The Equilibrium Bookcase is very surprising, this would be the perfect word to describe it, it`s fascinating and interesting and along with a special wallpaper it can generate some interesting illusions. The product described is realized by  Malagana Design a studio located in Colombia. Even though it seems gravity-defying, the bookcase is very strong, the idea overall is very well implemented into the resulting design, the ensemble being solid enough to hold 50 kilograms. The owner can make use of its position and customize up to five separate volumes which are after arranged in equilibrium.

Homesthetics Conclusion

Even it seems like a very original design and we highly appreciate the creativity, the equilibrium card has been played thousands of time. The only downside of the bookcase would be that it can`t host small items and objects due to the volumes inclination. We are strongly encouraging you to leave us your opinion bellow and if you have enjoyed this piece of furniture we would recommend the next article:Gravity-Defying Land Art by Cornelia Konrads.
