FLOAT Architectural Research and Design has conceived the following small wooden structure located next to the Marys River in Oregon as a writing studio for a philosophy professor. The key elements followed in the design were concerning the possibility of making the studio completely off grid whilst preserving the natural integrity of the location and site. The materials used had to be biodegradable and ecofriendly. This secluded retreat has been transported piece by piece by foot to avoid the insertion of automobiles in the natural area. A water collector has been placed outside to attract wildlife and to go on in the spirit of green living.
An inspiring view, perfect for artistic endeavors, don’t you agree?
