Contemporary homeowners have slowly moved with the mass media and design professionals from the 90`s trend of beige and cream. While this trend gains more and more attention everyday the design professionals are capturing a timeless design in black and white and shades of gray client less and less often, easily color over saturating the market and becoming less of an accent, more of a kitsch sadly.
Nobility and elegance is captured in pieces that are becoming accents trough the shape of space, trough spatiality not color only, a timeless design like the Eames Chair will always maintain its crown. With this article we are militating for the importance of the neutral color pallet, for the shades of gray that are shaping trough light and shade. An even more crucial aspect is that most of the people that have committed to color are not considering redecorating every season or two, they tend to choose neutral tones because they can`t decide on a bold and sincere approach. Decorating an interior with neutral shades requires attention, requires accents and bold design lines. A neutral background should either be a statement with for its own existence through high contrasts of black and white for example, or it should be a background for an accent, a wallpaper for your point of interest that can be a bold red, teal or purple. Using neutral palettes wrong can generate a faded and unwelcoming environment where everything seems worn out and old.
1. Clean & Simple Subtle Shades of Neutrals
A neutral color scheme naturally consists of more then one tone, it`s natural to be inspired by nature, in no place in nature you`ll find just one tone of color. Basically there is no limit on the range of shades that you should use but you should combine them properly whether you are using them to complement or contrast with something. Gray is a clear choice by default but gray as well comes in a variety of tones this offering you limitless possibilities. The advantage of using just gray in an interior is that you can use the tone-on-tone very efficiently: you can combine cool hoes with warm and cold ones and create a highly fashionable interior decor; this however is in most cases a background, you should consider using a focus object noticeable trough shape and volume.
2. Tantalizing Textures
Without proper organization we often emerge ourselves into the world of colors and furnishing without considering one of the most important aspect in design: textures. Textures are shaping interiors, are densifying the decor and completing materiality. Textures can easily become the much needed accent in a neutral color palette, they can introduce an elegant noble vibe or a contrasting playful one.A soothing apparel can be obtained trough textures of different kinds: natural fibers like bamboo or wicked can define a more soothing and relaxing aesthetic while a black leather couch can give the space an air of superiority and luxury.
A simple rug along with a Pashmina and two three pillows can change the entire space in the living room. The best part is that these accessories are cheap and can be change every season to match the mood and design line of the holiday dictating these changes.

5. An Ode to Nature
It`s normal and natural for sustainable design and eco-friendly materials to gain more and more importance everyday. This segment today is far more then a fashion statement despite popular belief. More and more design professionals and manufacturers are trying to reduce impact on the environment and use natural materials more often. 6. A Dash of Black and White Magic
Nothing defines or sharpens a space composed of neutral colors more then black. Black is simply the most noble and elegant tone existent and it should be used and perceived in this matter in any interior. Black can shape an interior, can point to an accent or become one itself, it can demarcate spatiality and emphasize architectural features of any kind. Black is simply timeless if used properly and it should remain so. 7. Dazzle with Lighting
Light has a crucial role in absolutely any interior design but in neutral color palette it`s even more important. The shades and hues can be enhanced or worsened so studying the positioning of the light sources and the way the illuminate is very important. It`s essential to maintain and emphasize the design line adopted through lightning, you should be able to make a room filled with light hues lighter, through light and in the same manner you should be able to darken a room composed out of dark hues.
Enhance the space through light, let it breath through it, in most cases we desire an open and airy space able to be lighten by ambient light magnificently once the dusk sets .

You have probably already noticed that the more remarkable and inspiring interior designs are the simplest. Interior design is not about what you can add but about what you can take away, it seems simple but it`s actually very hard to adopt such a lifestyle in which everything is always in its place. It`s the natural order in this world which we try to alter continuously.
