Located in Durban, South Africa, La Lucia is a modern mansion envisioned by world renowned architecture firm SAOTA. At first glance we had doubts about the authorship, it hardly looks like a SAOTA mansion, the form its simple, modest and the whole home it`s rather pale, calm, transparent, neutral, abstract values for SAOTA`s work usually.
Yet here we are with an extraordinary object of architecture devoided of extravagance whilst making a statement for itself. Getting a step closer in the site and stepping in the interior of the mansion we are able to observe the extraordinary attention to details and the impeccable execution, values well known, mastered and wielded to perfection by Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects .
The entire rectangular volume is surrounded by glass that blends perfectly with the use of raw materials like exposed concrete, unfinished wood and metal, all perfectly mixed in a ethereal atmosphere, breathing from the earth. Aspect that leads us to the main functional item of the home, we are talking about a metal cover pierced in a wonderful manner, metal cover that protects and emphasizes the interior and exterior design.
We find this design breathtaking and we love the metal armor used by SAOTA,we are also glad to see that the world renowned architecture firm has more then extravagance and flashy designs in their portfolio, do not get us wrong, we are delighted by those but as you all know, the wallets have different girths by design .
We would love to hear your opinion on this modern mansion in the comment section bellow.
