Quality design comes in thousands of shapes and forms. Olson Kundig Architects have materialized a private residence embedded in luxury with a high sense of maturity, elegance and nobility. The residence is located in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico and it makes use of a highly privileged site which allows the home to capture extraordinary expansive views towards the ocean.
Mexico Residence has been completed in 2010 by Olson Kundig Architects . The home offers the pedestrian an extraordinary warm and inviting perspective view despite the rigid wrapping in stone and rectangular bold lines that are highlighting the volume. Towards the ocean the home unveils its interior design in all its glory, extraordinary snapshots completing the interiors magnificently. The connection between interior and exterior design has been very careful treated by the architects and forged through seamless transition between spaces.
Mexico Residence by Olson Kundig Architects:
“Set on a sandy beach in Mexico, this seasonal vacation home allows its owner to entertain large numbers of friends and family while maintaining a comfortable private space. A central, two-story gathering space separates the public areas – living, dining, kitchen and catering – from the master suite. An upstairs floor containing bedrooms, bunkrooms, bathrooms, and a kids’ area can be closed off, maintaining an intimate feel.
A strong connection between indoors and outdoors is fostered by sliding pocket doors and multiple outdoor living spaces, as well as deep cantilevered overhangs. Sustainable features include solar thermal panels and natural ventilation. This modern home is influenced by local traditions.”
