After presenting High End Penthouse-Duplex Apartment On Top Of Bloomberg Tower, Manhattan, New York & Wolf of Wall Street Penthouse Apartment and a nostalgic episode of Friends our crave for New York and Central Park came back rushing at us. As a result we have started looking up penthouses with a view in the area, imagining how we would spend our lottery money. Manhattan is by far the most dense populated area of New York and even if I would rather go for a modern mansion in Singapore or Cape Town any day, a penthouse in Manhattan would definitely be the second choice.

The small penthouse covers around 5000 square foot of dreams, being considered a duplex penthouse and being privileged with panoramic views over the New York Skyline and beyond, including obviously our beloved Central Park. The penthouse has been designed by Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects, architects which are describing the project bellow for a better understanding of the thought process behind it.

“The owner, with a family of 7, specified a dense program, providing us with an opportunity to investigate and reinvent unique design elements throughout the space. One of the primary design strategies is the relationship between the dining and library spaces around the double height living room, compositionally integrating the staircase, cantilevered piano off of the balcony, the art wall wine display, the glass and gunmetal wall and railings. In addition, the moving bookcase between the library and study, allows natural light to the powder room while providing desired privacy to the study. From the master steam shower one can see through the electromagnetic glass, across the apartment to Central Park. The material palette establishes a consistency throughout, while maintaining the formal parti and compositionally rich sculptural intervention, simultaneously rendering the space as a serene, private oasis separate from, but visually engaged in the city.”

We absolutely adore the black and white interior design that managed to create and define sculptural objects, what do you think about it?!
