On these wonderful days our minds tend to drift away to incredible retreats and resorts filled with important memories and significance for us. Such an inspiring place is the Modern Remote Island Retreat  ‘Manshausen‘ located on an isolated secluded island in Steigen, Norway designed by architecture studio Stinessen Arkitektur. Nature is the key element surprised by the architects in a simple minimal composition including a mixture of the natural element- wood and a high degree of transparency that will allow surreal views over the wonderful landscape of wild Norway.

“The cabins are designed to offer their guests shelter and comfort while at the same time underlining the dramatic experience of the elements outside; the sea, landscape, changing lights, weather and different seasons.”

The openness and orientation towards the natural element is the main focal point sought by the architect. A chair is all that is required to admire such an unbelievable expression of the natural.
