As Homesthetics advances in the architecture sphere, featuring great contemporary interior designs filled with inspiration, we have the great opportunity to create connections with artists in the design world that we admire and respect. A few weeks ago we have reviewed The 13 Fox Masques Apartment by Akinkin & Avrutskaya Moscow,Russia , realized by two great professionals in the design arts, an architect and a designer.
These artists have recently contacted us thanking us for the review and we took the opportunity to ask them about their work. We got lucky and we are happy that we have popped out the question because we have received information about other two great apartments that we would like to present.
The following one is one of their favourite objects despite the small interior space measuring just 70 square meters. The apartment is located in the capital of Russia, Moscow as the other apartment presented;and in this case the lady which uses the apartment ” was brave enough for bright colors “ as one of the artists stated. The bright colours are not the only limit that brakes the boundaries of most contemporary interior designs, in this unique contrast we also find iron floor in the corridor and wooden floors in the bathroom, a very rare combination that may resemble the warmth of the wood in an intimate space and the cold attitude of a space that is used very often by a large number of people. Almost everything inside is unique, being realized and designed by the Ekaterina Avrutskaya & Alexander Akinkin workshop, for example the panel with the Mexican man and the dragon in the bathroom is realized by Ekaterina Avrutskaya. Doors and shutters are entirely realized by Alexanders Akinkin`s sketches.
The synergy realized by two strong colors like red and blue is shuttering, unbelievable harmony welded together by personal touches like the sink in the kitchen or the kitchen panel with a Mexican family which are also handmade. The couple of artists have even painted the furniture.
We all have different tastes, that is what makes this world beautiful, diverse and outstanding, therefore many of you out there may not like this apartment, and that is very normal. It has a huge fingerprint on it, it shows a huge grade of implication from the architect and the designer, thing which makes this even more better. Why? Well because in my opinion they have managed to make the perfect architecture, the perfect contemporary interior design, the one that once the artists leaves, it looks like it was designed by the one living there, that is what architecture and design should be about. It`s something very personal, a level deep down below of intimacy and harmony of spaces in which few of us retreat; and in this world in which a desk is sold in thousands or millions copies around the globe, this kind of personality and equilibrium is very much appreciated.
