Istanbul-based design practice Autoban has created Savoy Ulus, an unusual residential complex which plays with geometry, angles, textures and light in an incredible composition. The complex features a variety f apartments, each one unique according to different lifestyles with one main focal point in common: the common entertainment area of the complex revolves around a huge two story library placed in the middle of the home, covered in huge glass walls, a different way of perceiving this quiet secluded space. You can know enjoy a relaxing time reading a good book while being in the certain of action as well.
Wooden panels and concrete form the base of this angular composition, creating tension between shapes and spaces and an overall home dynamic we love.
We have to take a second and really appreciate the impeccable mixture of materials and textures used.
At night, when everything goes quiet, you can really appreciate the beauty of this centerpiece. Artificial lights play a crucial role in the display of the angles created, an elegance exuded subtle throughout the space, intimacy and delicacy as well.
The complex provides a series of other facilities as well, including a heated swimming pool.
As angular and contorted the space might be, the center’s complex plan scheme is one very clean and beautifully organized around its piece de resistance.
