CYIN’ is entitled. A home built to adapt to the season, a residence located in the Hokkaido prefecture that manages to stay cool during summer and self-insulate in the harsh winters of Northern Japan. The home is elevated above soil, protecting it from the cold soil, humidity and possible snow that would wrap the home around; this space can be used during spring, winter and even autumn by the users.

To maximize shade and ventilation during summer months each window has been strategically placed, the volume becoming highly efficient despite it`s small parcel and overall footprint.

Thanks to the open plan setup, the living areas are airy and luminous. The interior subdivision emphasizes the feeling of space as well thanks to its height, allowing light to bounce through the volume.

Plywood subdivisions and light floor hues along white stark paint do inspire calm and tranquility along coziness and warmth.
