Architecture practice Sharon Neuman Architects has envisioned the simple rectangular composition that follows, a simple modern home of concrete that sculpted 2,200 square foot of space in Israel for a family with three children. Despite the simplicity the composition is perfectly balanced, through color and volumes treated differently the home boosts depth and sculpts space around it beautifully. The windows are piercing the facades just in the right place for the interior and exterior alike, sculpting the prefect volume.
“ After giving a great amount of consideration to the functionality of the space and the movement scheme, we have decided to build a split level house, placing the master bedroom half way between the public area and the children’s space. The scheme evolved into an L shape plan with the Master Bedroom placed in the middle, outside the L, being surrounded by its 2 wings. Since basement was not part of the requirements, we decided to hang the Master Bedroom as a cantilever, thus freeing the space beneath it, enlarging the garden and allowing interesting views across the lot.”
The interior emphasizes simplicity with contemporary features, the double height living room contained acts as the core of the residence, spaces gravitating around it.
Sculptural furniture, beautiful lighting fixtures and stark white interiors flooded by light construct a great scene.
Notice the timeless Eames Lounge chair serving as the ultimate reading nook.
A floating piece of wall keeps the media console suspended whilst freeing floor space, beautifully decluttering the image, adding airiness to the room; the double height living space greatly amplifies this effect.
An open floor plan creates great connections between the living spaces.
In the bathroom the feeling of space is greatly emphasized by light and mirrors that bounce light throughout the room.
