Tingo and Fenny Residence is a controversial modern mansion completed in 2003 by Pons Arquitectos, this special home being located on the streets of Santo Domingo in Dominican Republic. The goal of the architects has been rather clear from the very beginning: to develop two houses, for two families, on a single lot measuring around 26000 square foot, this project included both common areas for the home as well as superior privacy and independence of each modern mansion. The ensemble is developed on three storeys, from these three only two being shown to the pedestrian on the street level, maintaining the height of the neighbors and embedding one floor into the ground; this one includes garages, guests rooms and a study room, all designed to function properly in such close quarters. The common areas of the modern mansions are the gym, the swimming pool and a large hall meant to host social gatherings. The last floor is reserved for the most intimate bedrooms.
The whole home has been designed with an unfamiliar contemporary style, using many bold materials, controversial and contradictory ones. We would love to hear your opinion on this modern mansion in the comment section below.
