Cristina Giuroiu
Architect — Anthropometrics & Technical Illustration
Cristina Giuroiu is a Bucharest-based architect, registered with the Romanian Order of Architects under registration number 10862, and a 2017 graduate of the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism — the school's RIBA-validated programme — with a focus on sustainability. She practices at sculpta, the Bucharest studio she co-founded with architect Anton Giuroiu, where she co-designed MORA35, the residential project that won A'Design and Arch Design awards in 2022.
On Homesthetics, Cristina draws the technical references behind the guides — the architectural drawings, diagrams, and anthropometric data that record the clearances, reach zones, and proportions a room must respect. Every figure is taken from the recognized standards of the discipline and drawn to the same norms she builds by, on a conviction her work keeps returning to — a room is designed around the body that will live in it, and every measure on a drawing is a measure of a person.
Beyond these pages, Cristina is the Editorial and Design Director of Architecture Lab Magazine, where she shapes each issue's curation and visual language. Her writing on dwelling in 52 square meters — the MORA35 apartment — appeared in Zeppelin 164, winter 2021, pp. 42–50, and the project itself has been covered by Iuliana Dumitru in Interioare XS din România, published by igloo in 2022, and by Isabelle Lomholt for e-architect. Her work centers on sustainable, energy-efficient design — buildings made to last generations.
