This remarkable white modern mansion was designed by German practice Hornung and Jacobi Architecture is located in an open site in the countryside next to a forest in Southern Germany, benefiting from wonderful views of the natural surroundings.
Because the site offers lots of privacy by the natural boundaries of the environment, an open living configuration was possible, defined by large glazings that connect the modern mansion and its luxurious interior to the environment and flood it with natural light. The site also had a height difference of three meters witch inspired the shape and orientation of the building. This home is designed for a couple, with an independent area for guests. The house also has a more open part , with large windows and openings that point to the forest nearby and a more private and enclosed part with smaller openings that point to the neighborhood .The first floor extends in a console a couple of meters , giving the feeling of floating and serving as a garage roof .Because the house has a continuous "U" shape , it merges with the surrounding natural environment , also creating a contrast with the more traditional houses in the neighborhood.
The living room opens up to nature through large windows , and the irregular wooden floor outside , that continues the living room offers the viewer a path into the natural habbitat. The wooden floor also make a soft tranzition between the outside and the inside of this home .
The gravity defying first floor that seems to emerge from the ground serves as a natural roof to a car garage .
Open large spaces and white walls and floors give the living room simplicity and elegance . The usage of wood in different appliances such as the stairs and the dining chairs ,bring warmth and personality to the house .
