    1. The definition of “ART”
      1.
the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.
      “the art of the Renaissance”
      synonyms: fine art, artwork
      “he studied art”
      2.
the various branches of creative activity, such as painting, music, literature, and dance.
      “the visual arts”

So wouldn’t this be considered art?

    2. This is titled ’31 DIY painting projects for your walls’ not ’31 greatest art masterpieces of all time’. If it showed Vincent Van Gogh’s sunflowers then it wouldn’t be DIY would it!? One of the is even for children for goodness sake! If you don’t appreciate this sort of ‘art’ then don’t read it. Certainly don’t then continue to waste your own time leaving a negative comment.

    3. Well. Aren’t we a snob.

I will take the painted rock with my son and grandsons handprint over any over priced artwork you may own any day.

Art is what makes you happy. What speaks to you.

Even my four year old grandson knows this.

  1. If your idea of an art gallery is the home decor section of Target… then sure, this is art. But if your idea of an art gallery is, you know, an art gallery, then this is more like ideas for DIY home decor. It looks nice on your living room wall, sure, but there’s not really a whole lot of value here if you’re looking for fine art. Besides, real artists don’t need some blog to tell them how or what to paint. ; )

    1. Nobody described it as an art gallery! Haha! In fact it is more closely described as the ‘home decor section in target’ as it is ‘DIY painting’ – Not a masterclass in the art of expressionism! Another person wasting their own time with unecessary negative comments that have no relevance to this post.

  2. Please ignore those who are not very well mannered on this site. Thank you for this page also, I especially like the ideas for a child’s handprint with their parents handprints beneath theirs. Regards, Dakota.

  3. Really inspiring ideas! I am an Art Teacher and the students will love these as fun after school projects in art club.

I have also recently bought a house and have very bare walls after decorating. I can’t afford lots of new furnishings so some of these are nice quick ideas to add some colour.

  4. I really liked this a lot, actually. For somebody who isn’t the most creative or the best at anything DIY, I feel like some of these ideas are really great starting off points that I’d love to try.

So, thanks for these ideas! It makes me excited to go out and try some experimenting.

  5. Absolutely cool ideas! Would love to see my kids have loads of fun with so many projects.
Have started work on the leaf spraying thing n the tape on bold colours.

  6. I love these DIY ideas! They all seem like great ideas that almost anybody can do to decorate their home. Would love to try out that fruit idea (like lemons in yellow paint on a light pink canvas for pink lemonade) and the toilet paper roll (for a cute kid project about flowers)!

  7. I love it what better way to embellish
A home than with artwork created together with loving hands it’s what creates memories that this artwork holds

  8. Each of these just strikes me as an IDEA — that can be used on walls or any other kind of project — Go ahead and PLAY with your material — what difference does it make if it is called by the 3 letter word “art” or anything else. Remember the great impressionists such as Monet were snubbed in their day because it was not “realism” list the old Masters…. chill and have fun!

  9. Certainly some innovative and creative ways to dress up basic walls, I love the idea of having your own unique wall art.

  10. I love the use of unconventional items (the corn and teddy bear) to create something unique! Great ideas for those living in rentals or those on a budget for decor. Thank you!

    1. Brilliant! Love the opening lines of your post – Your walls are like blank canvases waiting to filled with wonderful paintings and works of art. Your efforts and thoughts are almost palpable. The glitter art and the cute teddy bear look great. Hand paintings are rarely seen and give an unusual and creative touch. If I may add one idea – you can also get a beautiful Buddha wallpaper installed, as it exudes radiant and peaceful vibes.

  11. I like the lemon texture. It looks interesting when you utilize food to make art….but why not!
