Vitamix Vs Blendtec: Which Brand Has The Better Products?

Vitamix and Blendtec are two of the most reputable brands for providing us with high-powered blenders.

Vitamix Vs Blendtec

Both are great choices and can be a good investment regardless of your brand.

If you happen to hop in your favorite smoothie shop, chances are, they're using either Vitamix or Blendtec blenders.

While other reputable brands offer different kinds of blenders, Vitamix and Blendtec always come to mind as they are known for their durable designs, high-quality blenders, and many more.

Despite their similarities in terms of performance and looks, they also do have their set of differences regarding Vitamix vs Blendtec blenders. I'll go into detail regarding this great brand.

Vitamix Overview

Vitamix blenders are renowned worldwide for providing some of the best smoothies.

This brand has become a gold standard for quality, durability, design, performance, and blending power.

While they might be known for their high-end blenders, Vitamix blenders are also known as some of the priciest blenders on the market today.

Why? One of the few reasons is how capable their blenders blend prowess and power; their blenders are built to last.

Vitamix provides aircraft-glade stainless steel blades that can do everything, make smoothies, offer thicker blends, and has various automated programs that make your life easier when blending.

Another key feature that makes Vitamix blenders popular is the tamper apparatus. This tool is used to push ingredients further to avoid air pockets.

As a result, the blender blends smoothly without overheating or exhausting the blender's blades or motor. This feature allows the machine to blend the ingredients smoothly.

Some of these brands' most powerful machines make hot soups, frozen desserts, slice-through bread dough, smoothies, and many more.

If you are looking for a high-powered blender, Vitamix has much to offer. They have every product for different price segments.

Blendtec Overview

Blendtec offers both commercial and household blenders. This brand and Vitamix are renowned worldwide for making fantastic blending machines.

Founded by Tom Dickson, Blendtec has been associated with the world of blending. They have every product in store for different price points.

This brand has equipped its products with different innovations and technologies to make blending easier, smoother, and more affordable to everyone.

One of their most notable attributes is how powerful their machines are.

It is powerful enough to remove the rubber gasket at the bottom, and the extra sharp blades are great for churning ice or pureeing the hot soup.

Despite its powerful motor, the only drawback I can give to this amazing brand is the loud operation. In most of my tests, using their machines can become borderline deafening.

Well, that's not the case if you're blending, right? However, it got so loud that I had to do intervals when making a smoothie so I won't disturb any of my family members.

Still, one of the few things that made me choose Blendtec is their blender jars.

They have the traditional blender jar, a Wildside jar, and a twister jar. Each jar is intended for different uses.

The twister jar is used for fruit shakes, a smoothie, and thick blends, while the Wildside jar is intended for larger blends, bread dough, smoothies, dips, and batters.

Vitamix Vs Blendtec: Head-to-Head Comparison

For this comparison, I have used two different machines from both brands.

I used the Vitamix Ascent A3500 blender and Blendtec Professional 750 blender for Vitamix. Both of these products work similarly and are competitively priced.

Vitamix vs Blendtec: Power

Both Vitamix and Blendtec offer amazing machines. However, Blendtec blenders have pre-programmed settings and variable speeds to make the blending process faster, simpler, and smoother.

For example, I used the Blendtec Professional 750 blender, which has six pre-programmed options wherein all you have to do is push the buttons, and you're free to go.

You'll come back with an amazing smoothie.

On the other hand, I used the Vitamix Ascent A3500 blender. While their machines don't struggle by any means, I noticed, based on my tests, that the Vitamix Ascent blender took more time to blend the ingredients, although not significantly.

Still, the hands-free option that Blendtec brings isn't often found in this price segment for Vitamix. You can feel the power even in one of their cheap blenders. Blendtec takes the win.

Vitamix vs Blendtec: Design

Vitamix and Blendtec are known for the quality of their designs, which is why they are two of the most popular brands.

As I mentioned a while ago, this Vitamix's tamper tool is a key factor when pushing down ingredients to make the blending process faster.

However, team Blendtec claimed their blenders are already efficient, and it doesn't need any tool to push the ingredients further as their blend cycle is efficient enough to go through all the ingredients.

For comparison, I have reviewed Both Blendtec and Vitamix machines, and I was able to pinpoint some differences.

I tried using the Vitamix Ascent A3500 blender, and to my surprise, it breezed past through hot soups and smoothies. To my astonishment, it could also crush through hard vegetables and ice.

On the other hand, I used the Blendtec Professional 750 blender and was making smoothies; however, I paused for many moments to ensure every ingredient was pushed through.

Regarding design, I can say this tamper thing helped me push ingredients further to make smoothies better, and for that, Vitamix wins.

Vitamix vs Blendtec: Versatility

Based on my experience, using both Vitamix and Blendtec machines can make a great smoothie. It crushes through ice and fruit without many hiccups, a dream most cheap machines can only dream of.

However, the tampers used in Vitamix machines can offer a good balance, especially when making textured foods, like nut butter, smoothie, or salad dressings.

For accessories, Vitamix wins out again in this department. Vitamix offers a lot of attachments and containers; you can turn this blender into a food processor instantly.

On the other hand, a blender from Blendtec doesn't have the versatility to compete with Vitamix. I'd go for Vitamix machines if you want a multi-faceted blender.

Vitamix vs Blendtec: Price

And because Vitamix is offering something that Blendtec can't, it doesn't surprise that they are also the pricier of the two.

Vitamix machines can go up to $600. While the prices are significantly high, you get plenty of features already.

Blendtec is a good blender brand. They are more catered towards the people who want a decent blender without spending too much money.

One of their cheapest Blendtec machines starts at $229.95, and you have a good one for making smoothies.

The bottom line is that you get what you paid for when you buy a Vitamix Blender rather than a Blendtec one. However, it boils down to personal preference and budget on which one to choose.

For many years, the coffee giant has been using Blendtec machines but has shifted its focus to Vitamix as it provided the right blender for Starbucks’ needs.

If you drop by your local Starbucks store while ordering your favorite frappe, you will immediately find they use a Vitamix blender.

The machine was nicknamed “The Quiet One” for its ability to work in some of the quietest operations in the world of blending.

For context, the Quiet one was 18 decibels quieter than most brands can offer. Their Vitamix machines can also be seen through their ads and videos.

  • Which Is Quieter, Vitamix, or Blendtec?

As I’ve mentioned, Blendtec is notable for having some of the most powerful motors the industry has seen. But it doesn’t come with any drawbacks.

According to some of my tests, like making lemon juice, Blendtec was significantly louder than Vitamix.

While you can’t expect these blending machines to be quiet during operations, I suggest taking the Vitamix route for the safer bet.

  • What Can You Make With a Vitamix or Blendtec Blender?
